About me

My name is Shannon Browning. My first encounter with astrology was vehement resistance to the fact that I was a Capricorn, around the age of 8 — I would read descriptions of Capricorn and Aquarius and insist that something must be wrong, because I was surely an Aquarius. Seeing my birth chart for the first time revealed that I was an Aquarius moon, and from there, I was hooked.

I am a perpetual student. My studies and areas of interest include:

• Astrology (of course)

  • Graduate of Nightlight Astrology’s first-year Hellenistic astrology course

  • Currently enrolled in Nightlight’s Year 2 and Horary courses

  • Informally, I have been studying astrology for the past decade through books, podcasts, and reading birth charts for just about everyone I know. I am heavily influenced by the teachings and work of Chris Brennan, Amaya and Damien Rourke, Kaitlin and Austin Coppock (and their offerings via Sphere and Sundry), and so many others who so graciously offer their knowledge and perspectives.

I currently live in Denver, Colorado. Outside of astrology readings, graduate school, and my part-time job, you can find me at a yoga class, cuddling my cat, Jupiter, or lingering too long at a coffee shop.
